Dear CITO Supported Clients,
Beginning September 27th, Zoom™ will enable enhanced security features. All meeting will require either a passcode (formerly referred to as passwords) or waiting room be configured. If neither a passcode nor waiting room is enabled, then Zoom will enforce a waiting room.
The change from “Meeting Password” to “Meeting Passcode” terminology is to help reinforce that a Zoom meeting “passcode” may be shared while “password” refers to your account password, which should never be shared.
Zoom meetings that already have a meeting passcode or waiting room enabled are not impacted by this change. If meeting passcodes are added to existing Zoom meetings, calendar invitations will need to be resent to include the new meeting passcode.
The Waiting Room feature provides further controls over how attendees join a meeting. As the meeting host, you can admit attendees one by one or hold all attendees in the waiting room and admit them all at once. For further information on the Zoom Waiting Room feature please see https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/115000332726-Waiting-Room
